Snacking Italian style

There’s an interesting product on the market that is a product of Italy – Italian Snacking Lupini Beans.

Pure plant protein is what you can expect with these snacking beans with zero net carbs. Yes, zero net carbs. This makes it an interesting product that is Vegan and Keto as well as gluten and soy free.

Because these beans are sprouted for 10 days to remove any naturally occurring antinutrients, they are also Paleo friendly. That’s a lot of power in a single bean.

“A fresher alternative to dry snacks” is the claim on the package, and the statement holds true. Don’t expect to open the bag and find dry, crunchy beans. Instead, Lupini beans are marinated, so they’re wet in the package. The beans are not mushy, though. They are crisp bean snacks, nothing like you’ve ever tried before, we’re sure.

We opted for the Sea Salt & Vinegar snacking beans, and the flavor was good. The vinegar didn’t punch you in the face, but it was present.

There were mixed reviews based on the wetness of the beans. Again, it’s different than what we think of as a salty snack. But one reviewer (who happens to be Keto) happily took the remaining beans home to eat, giving the Lupini beans an IMBHO-yes.

The best price on the Brami Snacking Beans for a single pack is from Thrive Market for $3.49. There are other flavor profiles available including chili & lime, garlic & rosemary, and hot chili peppers.
