In my BRUTALLY HONEST opinion

Neoh… oh, no!

#fightsugar That’s Neoh’s claim to fame.

Unfortunately while removing the sugar from their “crossbar”, Neoh included an array of sugar alternatives and other ingredients that gave this bar a chemical-forward flavor.

We were disappointed… but not immediately. During the first five seconds of eating this bar, our brains lit up with happiness. Neoh actually tasted like a candy bar. But it was the sixth second and our sixth sense that told us “Spit it out!” Yes, it was that bad.

It wasn’t just a chemical flavor that took over the palate, but it was the strong chemical burn we could feel that made us shake our heads and ask why. Why would anyone eat this?

We moved from tasting the original bar to the raspberry crossbar. As soon as we opened the raspberry bar, we were suspicious. It had an overtly raspberry smell, something you don’t get from a natural raspberry. So we were not at all surprised by the artificial raspberry flavor that came through along with the chemical taste.

The last bar we tried was coconut. We opened it and it smelled like sunscreen, and by this time it was definitely no surprise to us that not only did it smell like sunscreen, but it tasted like sunscreen. (This is an assumption, since we actually have never tasted sunscreen.)

Based on ingredients, the vast amount of sugar alcohol, and the chemical flavor, it’s an obvious IMBHO-no for Neoh!

We couldn’t find out much about this brand (or the company behind the brand) on its website, but the website touts Neoh as a “Good Food Winner 2020” from Men’s Health and Women’s Health. Since this was hard for us to fathom, we did a little more research.

The Good Food Foundation does indeed have a 2020 winners list. Neoh is not on it.

Men’s Health also has a list of the 100 Best Foods for Men in 2020. Neoh is not on it.

Women’s Health offered up its Top 45 Healthiest Foods to Eat in November 2019, after asking for submissions in February 2019 for its 2020 awards. Neoh was not on this list either.

Makes you wonder, doesn’t it? Did Neoh really make a good food list or is this a marketing ploy? Heck, even their videos leave us shaking our heads and asking “Why?”
