We’ve reviewed a couple different ramen noodles with mixed results. While Vite Ramen received high marks on the noodles (low marks on the flavor packets), we found Mike’s Mighty Good craft ramen less than perfect.

In our quest to find great ramen noodles, we asked Professor Google for assistance.

Professor, who makes the best ramen noodle?

A-Sha was the answer, and Professor Google was 100 percent right. The A-Sha Hakka Noodle is a wide noodle that is air dried, not fried. The consistency of this noodle is perfect. It’s toothsome, slightly chewy, but soft. Made simply from wheat flour, water and salt, the label is clean.

These are not instant noodles, so boil the noodles for four minutes and you’ll get the perfect texture every time.

The “original flavor” is dynamite. It’s a blend of soy sauce and white sesame oil. A-sha understands how to take very few ingredients and makes them explode with flavor. #Perfection

The Story: These Taiwanese noodles started with a 100-year old family recipe. In 1977, the ramen noodles originated in a noodle factory in Taiwan. In 2011, A-Sha Foods USA products landed in a small supermarket chain on the West Coast and in 2013 the brand officially launched its products at the 626 Night Market in Los Angeles.

This company has continued to grow and shine, earning its Safe Quality Food Certification in 2016 and finding its way onto the grocery shelves of all 50 states and throughout Canada in 2017. Online sales of the brand also continue to explode, and we understand why.

Not only does this product taste great, but it’s priced right. A single ramen noodle pack costs $1.45, or you can purchase in bulk: 20 and 50 packs for a slight price break.

If you don’t want sauce with your noodles, you can purchase A-sha’s knife cut extra wide noodles only for $8.99. This will get you 20 ramen noodle blocks. Talk about a bargain!

Beyond the wide noodles we tried, there are medium and thin-cut noodles, too. You can get flavor packets or purchase plain. Nearly all their noodle products are vegetarian, and they also indicate if the flavor profile is spicy or not spicy.

Seriously… if you are a ramen noodle lover, you must try A-Sha noodles. IMBHO-yes!
