Gluten free + crouton = Crounons

Let me first start by saying how difficult it was to get decent photos of this product. It was a stampede by two very determined Italian Greyhounds who wanted to share in the Crounon love, and they won!

It was obvious that Piper and Olive (Iggy sisters) enjoyed the Crounons, but what about the rest of us? All parties present gave this product a thumbs up, equating to an IMBHO-yes.

What we liked best about this product was finding a gluten-free replacement for croutons. In the past, we’ve had to make our own croutons, and it takes a bit of time. Now we have a quick solution.

As soon as the bag was torn open, we could smell the herb seasoning on these quinoa nuggets. We immediately had positive thoughts, which flowed over into the taste test.

The croutons were crunchy, but easy to eat. The garden herb variety we tried were distinctly garlic with hints of other herbs, all working together and creating a pleasant tasting experience. We didn’t bother with a salad, but instead munched on the Crounons enjoying each savory bite. Other varities of this product include butter & roasted garlic, cracked pepper & sea salt, and garlic & parmesan.

Carrington Farms has been around since 1999, but Crounons were introduced in June 2018. (Read more about the launch here.) Their focus on providing consumers with organic, cleaning-eating options rings true through Crounons.

According to the article introducing this product, 55% of U.S. consumers claim it’s very important to buy organic food, and Carrington Farms takes it a step further by providing consumers with clean ingredients, too.

Besides Cronouns, Carrington Farms offers several other product lines including grains & seeds, coconut oils, ghee, cooking oils, MCT oil, lupin, and superfood powders. You can check out their complete line of products by visiting their website.

We purchased these Crounons at our local Dillons (Kroger) store. They were located in the salad dressing aisle by the regular croutons.

If you have a gluten-free eater in your household, or if you’re working to cut back on gluten in your own life, be sure to check out this product.
