Hello, Scotland!
Nairn’s Gluten-Free Oat Grahams are baked in Scotland and enjoyed right here at IMBHO. Holy moly, these are good.
We’re always in search of gluten-free products for our resident gluten-free “have-to-be” (as opposed to a wanna-be), and this is the first product that has come even close to the graham crackers we all know and love. Going a step further, we believe Nairn’s wins hands down as the favorite graham of all times; it’s that good. (btw – our GF person snatched up the box of Nairn’s and wouldn’t relinquish it.)
We purchased our box of Nairn’s grahams from the local Sprouts and paid $4.29 for the box. Okay, they are more expensive than the traditional graham crackers, but when you’re feeding a special diet, price is not as important as filling the need with a quality, tasty product.
The chocolate chip oat grahams are certified gluten free from the Beyond Celiac organization. That’s a major credential. Furthermore, there are no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives, they are made from whole grain oats and suitable for vegetarians. (Their original and stem ginger grahams are suitable for vegans.)
Nairn’s has a long-standing tradition dating back to 1896 when John and Sarah Nairn opened their first bakery in Strathaven, Lanarkshire. Today it’s one of the largest producers of oatcakes in the UK, and a trusted gluten-free brand that exports to over 30 countries. Their website also gives an interesting history lesson on oatmeal. You can find that here.
While you’re on the Nairn’s website, be sure to check out their wide range of products from snackers to flatbreads to cereal. If you are gluten free or know someone who is, be sure to pass along Nairn’s information. And if you’re feeling the nice vibe, buy them some Nairn’s grahams. You’ll be a hero for the day.
