As I was visiting our local Green Acres, I came across Peeled Snacks. Two bags of these baked pea crisp snacks were prominently displayed in a cold case of other healthy snacks, including fresh vegetables and cheese. Cross merchandising worked, and I picked up a bag, disrupting the display, but taking on the challenge of finding out if my purchase was worth it.

It was! These pea crisps with the garden herb flavor profile were crunchy and full of flavor. The onion, garlic, and hint of dill played nicely together, as I found only one minor problem with this purchase. I couldn’t stop eating them!

These are not Keto friendly, as 25 pea crisps give you 9 net carbs (5 grams of protein); therefore, I counted to 25 and quit eating, saving the remaining crisps for another day. However, they are organic, gluten-free, non-gmo, and vegan, so obviously a win for all these dietary practices. And the label is clean – no long words I had to look up and investigate.

Another positive note on these pea crisps is they don’t stick in your teeth when you eat them. You know how a Cheetos puff leaves remnants lodged in your teeth after eating? Well, I didn’t have that problem with these pea crisps. No secondary snacking here, and no orange-encrusted fingers!

As I was researching the company behind the crisp, I visited the Peeled Snacks website. I couldn’t find much information on who started the company or how it started, but after digging further, I found out Peeled Snacks is a woman-owned company, started by Noha Waibsnaider. She is a true entrepreneur, and also started the Global Social Venture Competition (GSVC), “an initiative that provides aspiring entrepreneurs with mentoring, exposure and $50,000 in prizes to transform their ideas into businesses with a positive social and environmental impact.” Sadly, the GSVC was put to rest after 20 years and $1M in prize contributions, but still…what an impact it had to make. This puts Noha on my hero list, and to the woman behind the company as well as the product, it’s a great big IMBHO-yes!

To view other products offered by Peeled Snacks, visit their website – and you may as well make a purchase while you’re there. Be sure to tell them IMBHO sent you their way!

PS Take time and learn more about the woman behind this company and discover how her entrepreneurial spirit is changing the world.
