In my BRUTALLY HONEST opinion

A cool start… but still growing

We’re in the midst of more cool weather; it’s not exactly prime for the garden.

But we never let the weather slow us down. Thankfully one of our daughters gave us a small greenhouse a few years ago, and it allows us to keep growing regardless of the weather. Now we find ourselves with blooming tomatoes, cucumbers, and squash plants in the greenhouse, which we hope to find homes for soon.

Most of our raised garden beds are planted, and we use plastic coverings to protect all our transplants and seedlings from the unexpected chilly nights.

Everything except okra and peppers have made their way from the greenhouse to the garden beds, and as soon as the weather turns warm, we’ll promptly get them in the ground, too.

We’re tracking this year’s garden progress in our 2020 Garden Gallery. Be sure to visit it often as we update it with new photos every couple of weeks.

Stay in touch and let us know how your garden adventures are going.

Send us pictures, and we’ll post them on the Garden Zone. Tell us what you like to grow in your garden, too. Right now we’re testing several flower seeds, so we hope to have a lot of color in our backyard this summer.

“I grow plants for many reasons: to please my eye or to please my soul, to challenge the elements or to challenge my patience, for novelty or for nostalgia, but mostly for the joy in seeing them grow.” David Hobson, Lifelong Gardener, Photographer, and Public Speaker
