Blake bakes it best
We love rice crispy treats at our house, but we’ve never strayed from the original recipe: marshmallows, butter, Rice Krispies and sometimes peanut butter. Luckily, I’ve never had to worry about the ingredients I use because no one in our family suffers from food allergies.
This is not the case for Blake, the creator of Blake’s Seed Based snacks. He struggled to find snacks he could eat growing up due to his deadly food allergy, so he started making his own seed-based snacks. In 2018, Blake and a classmate used this idea for a project in their entrepreneurship class at Indiana University. They then launched their product later the same year.
We found these rice crispy treats on the Thrive Market website for $5.99. You can also find Blake’s snack bars at Kroger, ACME, and Sprouts stores.
Do Blake’s treats stand the test? IMBHO, YES!
These rice crispy treats were so good! They smelled good. They looked good. And they tasted good! The seed-based recipe is a brilliant and healthy alternative. Plus, these treats were not near as sticky as your typical rice crispy.
At first glance, I thought the box seemed a little small for five treats; I thought each treat was going to be tiny, but they were actually a decent size. Did I mention I loved the seeds? What a neat and yummy idea. The seeds added color and a little different texture. Add the sprinkles on top, and these treats are a pretty attractive snack.
