Mango body butter blues

I’m still searching to replace the Alba papaya mango body butter that seems to have disappeared from the shelf. (C’mon Alba…get your act together!)

In my latest attempt at finding happiness again, I purchased The Body Shop’s mango body butter. It has a 24-hour claim of “intense moisture for dry skin”. While I like their approach to using “community trade mango seed oil from India”, I don’t like their product.

This body butter does smell like mango, but it’s more of an artificial mango smell. It is not what I would call creamy, but has more of a wet/greasy feel; and you can see from one of the photos how it scoops out—not like a thick, creamy body butter, but more like a cheap margarine.

And the smell of the artificial mango didn’t improve when I put it on my skin; in fact, it got worse. But I didn’t want to remove the body butter because I wanted to know if it would stand up to it’s 24-hour intense moisture claim. Sadly, it did not. Five hours into my day, my legs felt horrifically dry.

This body butter wasn’t cheap, but I know sometimes to get quality, you must spend a little more. This time; however, that philosophy didn’t pay off! The only positive is I’m signed up with Rakuten, so I did get 4% cash on my purchase. All is not lost!

If you want to know more about the Body Shop products, you can visit their website at The Body Shop.

The journey to find a new body butter continues. If you have suggestions on body butters I should try, comment below or send an email to imbhoeditor@gmail.com. And thank you, in advance. I really need some help here!
