Which came first?

Which came first – the chicken or the samosa? I would venture to say the chicken, but not necessarily in these samosas. While the flavor was okay—not extraordinary, but okay—it was hard to find the chicken. What we denoted might be chicken, was overly cooked and had the texture of baby food.

Trader Joe’s has a lot of good products, but these mini Chicken Tikka Samosas just aren’t on our list to purchase again. Found in the frozen appetizer section at $3.99 for a box of 12 samosas, the price isn’t horrible. If you have family members who don’t have discerning tastes, maybe these would work for a quick snack, but I leave that up to you.

I do like the Indian spices in these, and they do bake up with a nice, crusty, non-greasy exterior. It’s the chicken that fails the taste and texture test.

For now, if I need a quick treat, I’ll stick to the Mango Sticky Rice Spring Rolls from TJ’s. You can read about those here.
