If you don’t mind the taste of a protein bar, you won’t mind eating the No Cow protein bar. It doesn’t distinguish itself from other protein bars in flavor. Not horrible, but not the best we’ve ever tasted either.

The Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip had a distinct peanut butter smell when we opened the bar; unfortunately, this didn’t carry through to the taste. This was definitely the most “proteiny” in flavor of the two bars we tried. The Lemon Meringue Pie did give the taste buds a burst of lemon with the first bite. If we had to choose one of these bars to eat, it would be the lemon.

While flavor doesn’t differentiate these bars from others on the market, the 20+ grams of plant protein you get with each bar might. That’s a lot of protein.

We love the packaging with its clean appearance, and we also like the slogan: “No Cow. No Bull. No Whey!” The marketing department gets an A+ for sure.

The founder and CEO of No Cow is D Katz, and he’s an entrepreneur at heart with his first venture involving selling reptiles out of the basement of his parent’s house. Good story, and it will be fun to see what he tackles beyond the No Cow bars. Find out more about D’s story here.

We counted 14 different flavor profiles for the No Cow bars on the company’s website. D and his team have also concocted four different energy bars… a little lower in protein but 45 mg of caffeine.

That’s a lot of digestive issues for some of us, which is why we opted to give No Cow a salute to plant-based protein but an IMBHO-maybe to purchasing again.

With a name like No Cow, you'd think we don't like cows. We love cows, just not in our food. Our founder, Daniel "D" Katz is on a mission to do something nic...
