Organic brown rice, sunflower seeds and cashews. Who knew you could make tacos out of this mish mash. Carla Lee did.

Founder, Carla Lee, knew she had stumbled onto something great when her carnivore friends began craving her Nutburgers. Before she knew it, she landed herself at one of the largest food shows in America, Natural Products West, where her Nutburgers were a top pick at the show.

With clean, organic ingredients, these NutTacos (not burgers) are tasty. In fact, if we didn’t know better, we would think we were eating just a regular meat taco. The texture is terrific. The taste even better. This gives NutTacos an IMBHO-yes!

While we overcooked our tacos in the oven, that didn’t take away from how good they were. We would suggest that you thaw before cooking because heating from a frozen state doesn’t work very well. Lesson learned.

We also ate the tacos without any added condiments or vegetables. We like to taste test this way so we can get a true sense of the product. With that said, stand alone the tacos were great, but with added avocado, lettuce and a little salsa, we imagine these tacos could be sensational.

These NutTacos are organic, non-gmo, gluten and soy free, and vegan. As the packaging claims, they are made from “honest ingredients”, offering “true sustenance”, making them “naturally craveable”. We purchased the NutTacos at our local Dillons Marketplace (Kroger) in the freezer section.

Beyond burgers and tacos, Carla Lee’s also has NutBALLS, NutDoggities, NutQuitos, and NutNuggets. Be sure to check out the website to see the full product line.

Carla Lee’s product line started with nut burgers in 2013. Here’s a video that shows live testimonials on these burgers.
