Pig Out on pigless “pork” rinds

I haven’t had pork rinds in probably 20 years, so perhaps I’m not the best judge here.

So I took them to an avid pork rind lover and had her taste these plant-based snacks. I didn’t show her the bag. Her first impression was positive. “These are tasty. What are they?” So I asked her if they reminded her of anything. She took another and immediately said “pork rinds”! So there it is…pigless “pork” rinds actually do exist.

They are tasty, for sure, but the porkiness doesn’t hit you in the face; rather, there are nuances of pork rind in the flavor profile. This is based on the Original flavor. When trying the other flavor profiles, Hella Hot, BBQ and Nacho Cheese, the “pork” becomes secondary.

Hella Hot is exactly that. Even with habanero as the last ingredient on the list, one taste is all it takes to light your mouth on fire. If you love your spice, you should try Hella Hot Pigless Pork Rinds. It will give you a very satisfying burn.

Texas BBQ is sweet and smoky (my favorite) and Nacho Cheese is cheesy with a little spice. Both are exceptional in flavor. So even though these don’t quite measure up to the real pork rind, they are quite fun little snacks and to that we give an IMBHO-yes!

Pig Out Pigless Pork Rinds come from the Outstanding Foods company. There are many things about this company we like, including its transparency about sourcing its ingredients to partnering with non-profits that improve the well-being of animals.
