You know that heavenly smell that wafts out of your oven when you pull out a fresh-baked pecan pie? That is just the smell that welcomes your nose as you open up a bag of Sahale Snacks’ maple pecans nut mix.

My four-ounce bag came from Thrive Market for $4.99. A little over a dollar per ounce, but I guarantee you won’t regret this purchase.

Sahale Snacks began in Seattle, Washington, in 2003. Two mountain-climbing pals decided they needed a snack that tasted as great as the views they saw at the top of the mountains. Though they had no experience in the food industry, they experimented with nuts, dried fruit, and exotic spices until they came up with some favorite recipes.

The ingredients listed on Sahale’s bag are short and simple. And the flavor is utter perfection! The glazed almonds and walnuts are deliciously sweet. Dried cherries and apples add a wonderful tarty contrast that makes your taste buds tingle!

Regretfully, I have no ice cream in my freezer, but this nut mix would go perfectly atop a nice bowl of vanilla ice cream. Yummm!

Aside from making delicious snack mixes, Sahale strives to leave a positive impact on the planet. Sahale is a sponsor for the PeaceTrees Black Pepper Farming Project. They also partner with Bonneville Environmental Foundation by purchasing Renewable Energy Certificates. You can learn more about these projects on Sahale’s website.

Other products listed on the website include trail mixes, coconut snack mixes, bean + nut snack mixes and, of course, glazed snack mixes like the one I tried.

Sahale also shares snack pairing ideas on their website. Check out the video below for a delicious-looking recipe for roasted butternut squash using Sahale’s maple pecan mix.
