I have learned the hard way to avoid cinnamon candies. I love them! After I eat them, however, my tongue is always swollen and very sore. I assumed I was allergic to one of the ingredients.

When I saw Surf Sweets’ cinnamon bears were allergy friendly, I was curious to see how I would (or wouldn’t) react to them!

Let’s start off with the nutrition label. There’s very little nutritional value, but that’s to be expected. It is candy! ;) But check out the ingredients: all organic and simple! It is a breath of fresh air to find candy without a bunch of nasty ingredients.

Upon opening the bag, there is a pleasant and sharp cinnamon scent. The candy bears look pretty tasty, too! They’re not artificially red like most cinnamon candies, so that’s a plus, in my book! And the flavor? Just as good as all the artificially flavored stuff, but even better because they’re naturally flavored! I enjoyed the texture too: chewy and sticky. IMBHO, yes!

The best part? After eating half the bag, my tongue didn’t swell up! I’ve finally found a cinnamon candy that I can happily eat and not regret!

Although I was sure my kids wouldn’t care for the cinnamon, they still begged to try a bite. My two-year-old actually ate quite a few, but my four-year-old wasn’t a fan of the “spicy” flavor.

Surf Sweets started out in Santa Cruz, California. Their goal: making allergy-friendly candy. They also participate in 1% for the Planet. We got our bag of sweets off of the Thrive Market for $4.69. That’s more than I normally like to spend on a bag of candy, but in this case, I’d say it is well worth it!
