Twisted Pepper has been serving up quality products since 2005, while focusing on its promise of “Spices Twisted to Perfection”.
Led by the inspiration of founder, Ellie Hughes, this company has over 60 dip mixes, soup mixes, rubs and seasoning blends.
Started 15 years ago, Twisted Pepper products were first introduced in local farmers markets in Wichita, Kansas. By supplying salsa samples to shoppers, sales were made. The salsa was such a big hit, Ellie began figuring out her next move to expand her product line with mixes and spice blends.
Besides building a business, Ellie was focused on creating natural and delicious products that were chemical free, with no preservatives, MSG or gluten.
Products also are low sodium and free from animal fat, which opens the door for many who have dietary restrictions.
While today many of us look for clean label products, 15 years ago the words “clean label” were not front and center. But true entrepreneurs always think forward. Ellie did just that and cultivated Twisted Pepper into a successful business.

We tried the Prairie Ranch dip mix using sour cream as our foundation. The flavor profile hit all the package claims. We ate it with potato chips (our favorite) and fresh cucumbers and tomatoes. The overall tone of the dip was fresh, and we will be going back to Twisted Pepper to try additional products.
