“Refill is the new recycle.” That’s the mantra of Blueland, a company that offers cleaning products that are better for you and better for the environment.

From foaming hand wash (which we tried) to dish soap, dishwasher and laundry tabs, to cleaning sprays, Blueland has everything you need to turn your home into an environmentally clean home… and save you money, too! IMBHO-yes!!

Blueland’s mission is simple: “Cleaning up our planet starts with cleaning our homes.” It’s about products with a purpose, and the purpose is to not only clean, but to “eliminate over 100 billion single-use plastic bottles in the US”. #productswithpurpose

This company also makes it affordable to purchase, with free shipping when you spend over $35 and free returns.

Hand soap is an essential, and we purchased the Hand Soap Starter Set for $16. This includes the signature Blueland glass bottle (9 oz) and three foaming tabs: iris agave, Perrine lemon, and lavender eucalyptus. Within a week of making the purchase, we had the product at our doorstep.

The process for using the hand soap was simple. Add warm or hot water up to the line indicated on the bottle. Add a tab and watch it dissolve.

It took about 5 minutes for the tab to disintegrate with warm water. Once the tab dissolved fully, we hit the pump a few times and out came the foam.

We used the lavender eucalyptus tab and the scent was almost euphoric—it was uplifting and relaxing all at the same time. The Blueland hand foam isn’t like a traditional soap that gives you suds while you wash; instead, you get the suds up front.

  • After washing our hands, some of us denoted a slight dryness, but we are all hand lotion or cream users, so no big deal.

What we also like about this product (and the company) is the transparency into the ingredient list. Not only can you get a complete list of ingredients on the Blueland website, but you also get the CAS # (the gold standard for chemical substance information), where the ingredient is sourced, and its function.

And if you’re a real label reader, you’ll be glad to know this product is “made without any triclosan, parabens, phosphates, phthalates, ammonia, or VOCs. Certified Platinum Material Health by Cradle to Cradle,  Leaping Bunny (cruelty free).”

Besides great products, we also love that this company has a woman in charge—Sarah, CEO, Co-Founder, and Mompreneur. You can read more about her story on the Blueland website.

Be sure to visit Blueland today to get one of their cleaning kits, starter sets or refill packs. Or go all in and get The Clean Suite. You won’t be disappointed!

As if that’s not enough, we are huge fans of Shark Tank and were excited to see Blueland get support from Kevin O’Leary. We were even more excited to see Mr. Wonderful scrubbing a toilet. :)

We made a commercial and convinced our favorite Shark, Kevin O'Leary to clean a toilet on TV! Making the planet, your cleaning products and commercial breaks more wonderful!
