When the air cools, it’s chili to the rescue.

To all the Midwesterners, you know what we mean. There’s nothing better than chili and cinnamon rolls on a cold day!

While it wasn’t our intention to taste test Frontera’s green chile enchilada sauce this way, once we understood its flavor profile, we knew it would make a mean chili. We were right!

In fact, we loved the fresh nuance it gave chili so much, we just purchased eight more packages. :)

Made is small batches, Frontera green chile sauce is the creation of Chef Rick, whose travels and explorations of Mexico (along with his wife) have given him insight into the regional flavors of Mexico.

The inspiration gained from 40 years of travel joined with his love for food, Chef Rick opened his restaurant Frontera Grill in 1987.

He then took his inspiration a step further and created vibrant and flavorful products, including this one. Oh, and did we mention, he has written eight cookbooks, too! We plan on purchasing one and checking out some of his recipes! #Excited

As if that isn’t enough, search for Rick Bayless on YouTube where he provides tons of expert advice on Mexican cooking. #Yum

Beyond cooking sauces, Frontera’s line up also includes salsas, tortilla chips, guacamole mixes, frozen bowls & skillets, and grilling marinades—so basically everything you need for a Mexican feast!

We purchased the Frontera green chile enchilada sauce from Thrive Market for $2.29, but you can purchase the Frontera product line from several retailers including Target, Dillons, Spouts, Natural Grocers, Whole Foods, and Amazon Fresh.

Everyone has their own chili recipe, but don’t be shy to try something new, starting with this green chili sauce. Simply add it to your favorite chili blend, with or without beans, and dinner is served!

Do you love guacamole? If you do, watch Rick’s Master Class on making guacamole below.

P.S. Ken’s Chili Seasoning is the best we’ve ever found. We typically pick it up each year at the Kansas State Fair, but missed getting some the last two years. Fortunately, it can be purchased online here!
