It’s called a shot for a reason. No sipping here.

We made the mistake of sipping to taste and the flavor was intense! Cough-cough-choke-choke! It was like opening a jar of sauerkraut, removing the kraut, and drinking the juice straight. #Exactly

Farmhouse Culture’s Gut Shots are in the refrigerator section. Keeping the shots refrigerated allows the live bacteria to remain active and provide the body with natural probiotics and digestive benefits. Tagged as a “fermented veggie drink”, these are no joke. If you can stand the extreme sauerkraut flavor, your gut will thank you.

Did you know that bacteria live naturally on cabbage leaves? This means when cabbage is fermented and made into sauerkraut, it’s a purely natural process that begins by simply adding salt. Keeping the sauerkraut refrigerated (not pasteurized) allows us to benefit from the live bacteria, which populates in our gut increasing our immune systems. Who doesn’t want a stronger immune system these days?!

We tried the Ginger Beet and Garlic Dill Gut Shots. The Ginger Beet had a slightly less intense flavor (only slightly) and if we concentrated, we could find both beet and ginger in the flavor profile. On the other hand, there was no concentrating needed to find the garlic or the dill in the other shot. Both were very present, and most of the taste testers enjoyed the Garlic Dill over the Ginger Beet shot.

A couple of us took a shot each day for several days in a row. It was easy to get in the habit of throwing a shot back in the morning and feeling good all day. While we didn’t note any immediate changes in bodily functions, just knowing that we were doing something good for the gut gave us a feeling of health and wellness.

We should note that taking probiotics and other immune-supporting supplements isn’t new to any of us. We figure this is why we didn’t notice any radical changes in how we felt. It’s our guess that if you don’t include probiotics in your daily routine, you’ll note a significant change in your gut health when you try this product.

Having a healthy gut doesn’t come cheap. We jumped in and purchased Gut Shot when we had the opportunity to get 20% off and free shipping, thankfully. As it stands now, each Gut Shot runs around $2.50 each, and if you can’t find it in a local market, shipping is also high because the product is packed in ice to ship.

Regardless of the high price, we still give Farmhouse Culture and its Gut Shot an IMBHO-yes. We wish the price point was more affordable so more people could benefit from this product, because a healthy gut is essential to a quality, healthful life.

Be sure to check out Farmhouse Culture’s Kraut Krisps, too. These were a definitive IMBHO-yes!
