Lesser Evil Lil’ Puffs
Last month I enjoyed Lesser Evil’s healthier version of chocolate chip cookies (check out our review here). With healthier ingredients, I felt good eating the cookies instead of feeling guilty. Lesser Evil boasts high-quality ingredients added together to produce healthier snacks for your family, so this week, my family tried their Lil’ Puffs veggie blend.
Our 2 1/2-ounce bag came from Thrive Market for $3.29. That’s very comparable to Gerber’s puffs, which you can find at Walmart for $2.47, but Lesser Evil gives you a whole ounce more of snacks per package.
Glancing at the nutrition label, I thought the ingredients listed were reasonable and simple, but there really wasn’t much nutritional value. Other than a little bit of carbs, sodium and fat, there’s not much to these puffs. I wondered how the nutrition compared to Gerber’s puffs, so I found Gerber’s nutritional facts on Walmart’s website. I noticed that Gerber adds several vitamins and minerals to their product. Otherwise, the list of ingredients for both puffs was similar. As a mom, I prefer the snack with more nutritional value.
Lesser Evil’s puffs really were quite tasty, though. My four-year-old likened the snack to popcorn and gobbled them up by the handful. There was a slight saltiness and good fluffy crunch.
