We first talked about Fond Bone Broth in November 2021. At that time, the cost of a 4-pack of broth was $32. For the quality, we thought that was reasonable.

Now in 2024, we went back to purchase again and found the price increased a whopping 50% for a one-time purchase. A 4-pack Fond Bone Broth (14 oz jars) now costs $47.95.

However, you can switch to a subscribe and save plan and the cost lowers significantly—only $40.76 per 4 pack (A 27% price increase since 2021.)

We still stand behind this product. It is the best bone broth we have ever tasted. Even better, we have used this bone broth to heal when we’re not feeling well and we also use it as part of our dietary regimen for weight management.

But still…the price is out of range for many people, so we have searched for an alternative solution found on the average grocery shelf—enter Pacific Foods.

According to the Pacific Foods website, “Pacific Foods Organic Unsalted Chicken Bone Broth is a delicious, satisfying addition to your everyday routine. We slow-simmer organic chicken bones with onion, apple cider vinegar and rosemary for a savory bone broth full of naturally-occurring collagen.”

What we like about the bone broth is that it’s unsalted. This allows us to slow simmer and season to our own tastes. Add a little lemon, sage, garlic, or any herbal combination you like. A little touch of salt and pepper brings the flavors together to create a satisfying bone broth experience.

And here’s what we like most. The price! You can get a 32oz tetrapack container of organic bone broth—all organic ingredients—for as around $5.50 at Walmart. It’s on the shelf at traditional grocery retailers, too. Or purchase it on Amazon.

We know Pacific Foods isn’t a family-owned or small scale business, but when wallets are tight, it’s definitely a cost-saving option to goodness.
