To Partake… or not to partake
My two girls are free of food allergies, as far as we can tell. Hallelujah! Unfortunately, the same is not true for Denise Woodard’s daughter. Therefore, she started her company: Partake. She wanted to produce yummy snacks to accommodate her daughter’s allergies and help other children with similar issues.
Woodard goes farther than just producing allergy-friendly snacks, though.
She partners with organizations like No Kid Hungry to help support, educate, and provide food for families with children who have food allergies.
Woodard is also passionate about minorities in business. Being a black and Asian American, she strives to create more opportunities for underrepresented people in the food and beverage industry. She founded Black Futures in Food & Beverage in 2020. This fellowship program mentors students and helps them find internships or jobs.
Hats off to Denise Woodard for making a positive impact in our world!
Now back to the product…
I tried Partake’s birthday cake cookies. They sounded delicious! And really, they weren’t too bad! I just expected better. They had a pleasant and subtly sweet smell. They looked very appeasing. The flavor simply didn’t “wow” me, though.
My kids enjoyed the cookies and even asked for more. But my husband and I weren’t overly impressed. The cookies were good, but something we could do without. We weren’t hooked. IMBHO, Maybe! These are definitely a good option for kids who suffer from food allergies! Lucky for us, our choices aren’t limited.
My box of 15 cookies came from the Thrive Market for $4.89. I’d say that’s a pretty reasonable price! You can also find Partake products at Walmart, Kroger, Target, and Whole Foods Markets.
