5 Ingredients… clean label… organic. That’s sums up the good in this product.

The simply lime flavor profile doesn’t come through at all. No lime…just bland, bland, bland. The only evidence there might be lime is in the bitter aftertaste. It’s a definite IMBHO-no.

We purchased these snacking seeds from Thrive Market. What’s interesting is when we visited the Go Raw website, this product is no longer available. Hmmm…. Perhaps the company already recognized the flaws in this product and pulled it from production?

We had to do a little digging to find out more about this company because the Go Raw website doesn’t have any type of background or story provided. This is a pet peeve of ours. We always like to know how companies started and who started them.

We did find Go Raw’s parent company is Freeland Foods, Inc. of San Jose, CA. A new CEO was appointed in August 2018, Tim Prager. Before this, he was President of Beanitos, the bean snack company. It’s also interesting to note that Go Raw appears to be the only brand under the Freeland Foods umbrella. Curious…

According to an article on Markets Insider, the mission of Go Raw is “to help people eat better, feel good, and be their best selves—with the tastiest, plant-based, raw-energy superfoods on the planet.” While we applaud this mission, the word “tastiest” doesn’t describe the Simply Lime Snacking Seeds.

We do like how the product is minimally processed, gently dried rather than baked, and it is organic, non-GMO, vegan, gluten free, dairy free, nut free, soy free and kosher. Healthy snacks certainly have a place in this hectic world of ours, but flavor is key. Otherwise, consumers will not purchase more than once. It’s hard to stay in business without consumer loyalty.

For more information on Go Raw, view the video below. Created eight years ago, it provides information missing from our previous research and gives us a glimpse into how this company started.
